Privacy Policy

1. Scope and the short version

YayZoo (“we,” “us,” or “our”) operates the yayzoo.com website and publishes the Serene and Paperize browser extensions. Neither extension requires an account, and we do not sell personal information or use it for targeted advertising.

2. Information handled on yayzoo.com

When you visit yayzoo.com, we and our service providers may process:

• the pages and full website URLs you visit;
• interactions such as clicks, scrolling, navigation, and page views;
• browser, device, operating-system, screen, language, and approximate location information;
• a pseudonymous browser or session identifier stored through cookies or local storage; and
• standard request information such as IP address, timestamps, and HTTP metadata.

We use Mixpanel for product analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand website interaction and usability. Our hosting and content-delivery provider, Amazon Web Services, processes requests needed to deliver the site.

3. Information handled by Serene

Stored locally

Serene stores your blocklist, blocking rules, preferences, and a pseudonymous analytics identifier in Chrome’s local extension storage. This information remains associated with the extension on your device unless you remove it through Serene, clear the extension’s data, or uninstall the extension.

Sent for analytics

Serene sends feature-use and reliability events to Mixpanel. Depending on the feature used, an event can include the current, blocked, or attempted URL (which may include its path, query string, or fragment), a blocked domain, event name, extension version, timestamp, user agent, and pseudonymous identifier. Mixpanel may derive approximate location from the request IP address.

Serene also uses Microsoft Clarity on extension interfaces to understand interactions and improve usability. We configure the extension interface content to be masked.

What Serene does not do

Serene does not require an account, sell your blocklist or browsing information, or use it for advertising. Its website-blocking decisions are performed locally in Chrome.

4. Information handled by Paperize

Stored and processed locally

Paperize processes captured screenshots and selected screen, window, tab, or pasted-image content locally. Pending captures, generated scans, annotations, scan history, export preferences, onboarding and review-prompt state, and a pseudonymous analytics identifier may be stored in Chrome’s local extension storage.

Paperize does not transmit screenshot pixels, pasted images, generated scans, annotations, or saved scan-history images to YayZoo, Mixpanel, or Microsoft Clarity.

Sent for analytics

Paperize sends feature-use and reliability events to Mixpanel. These can include the event name, scan source type, extension version, locale, timezone, browser and operating-system information, screen or capture dimensions, timestamp, and a pseudonymous identifier. Paperize does not send the source URL or hostname. Mixpanel may use the request IP address to derive approximate location such as country and city; Paperize does not include the IP address as an event property.

Paperize also uses Microsoft Clarity on extension interfaces to understand interactions and improve usability. We configure the extension interface content to be masked. Microsoft may derive approximate location from the request IP address.

5. How we use information

• to provide Serene’s blocking features and Paperize’s capture, scan, edit, and export features;
• to keep local preferences and user-created data available between sessions;
• to understand feature adoption, diagnose failures, and improve performance and usability;
• to protect our products and users from abuse or security threats; and
• to comply with applicable legal obligations.

We do not use extension data to determine creditworthiness, make lending decisions, or create advertising profiles.

6. When information is disclosed

We disclose information only as needed to operate and improve the products, comply with law, protect rights and safety, or complete a business transaction subject to appropriate safeguards.

Our current service providers are:

• Mixpanel — product analytics;
• Microsoft Clarity — interaction and usability analytics; and
• Amazon Web Services — website hosting and content delivery.

These providers may process information in countries other than your own under their respective privacy and data-transfer terms. We do not permit them to use extension data for our own targeted advertising because we do not conduct targeted advertising.

7. Retention and security

Locally stored extension information remains on your device until you delete it, clear extension storage, or uninstall the extension. Analytics information is retained only as long as reasonably necessary for product analytics, security, and legal obligations, subject to our provider configurations and their policies.

Data sent from yayzoo.com or an extension to a service provider is transmitted over HTTPS. No security method is perfect, but we limit collection and use service providers designed to protect information appropriately.

8. Your choices and deletion

• Serene: remove individual blocked domains or use “Unblock all.” Uninstalling Serene removes its Chrome local storage.
• Paperize: delete saved scans from its history. Uninstalling Paperize removes its Chrome local storage.
• Website: use your browser controls to clear or block cookies and local storage. Browser privacy protections or content blockers may also limit analytics requests.
• Requests: you may ask about access, correction, or deletion of analytics information. Because analytics identifiers are pseudonymous, we may need information from your browser or extension to locate a record.

9. Children’s privacy

YayZoo’s website and extensions are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided personal information, contact us so we can investigate and delete it where appropriate.

10. Chrome Web Store Limited Use

YayZoo’s use and transfer of information received through Chrome extension APIs adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements.

We use information obtained through extension permissions only to provide or improve the extensions’ user-facing purposes. We do not sell it, use it for personalized or interest-based advertising, or permit humans to read screenshot content or browsing data except with the user’s affirmative consent for a specific purpose, when required for security or law, or after aggregation and anonymization for internal operations.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy when our products, providers, or legal obligations change. We will post the revised policy here and update the effective date. If an extension introduces materially different data practices, we will provide any additional notice or consent required by applicable policy or law.
